Savage, horrible creatures that are little better than animals. These monsters come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Almost all of them are warriors of some sort, wielding rudimentary weapons such of clubs, axes and crudely made blades. Raptus and Krane tend to classify beasts into two categories:
Intelligent: Calling these creatures intelligent is a bit of a stretch. Their I.Q.s are certainly well below that of the average human, however these creatures do possess social and survival skills absent in most animals. Intelligent beasts can use tools and have primitive clothing and even armor. In some cases they can even learn human languages. Examples of intelligent beasts include Orcs, Minotaurs, Common English Trolls and Merfolk.
Savage: These creatures are closer to wild animals than Intelligent creatures. They can not be reasoned or, for the most part, trained. They include Yeti's, Welsh Water Leapers, Hydras and Rodents Of Unusual Size.
